The State level workshop on implementation of Forest Rights Act (FRA)

The 2nd meeting of Telangana State Tribes Advisory Council (TAC) was held under the chairmanship of Hon’ble MLA Sri.D.S.Redya Naik on 26.6.2015 in Sri.S.R Sankaran Conference Hall, D.S.S Bhavan, Masab tank. The TAC reviewed the action taken on minutes of previous meeting held on 18.10.2014 and also discussed on the issue of resettlement of Dr.Ambedkar Pranahita Chevela Project, denotification of minor forest products in Telangana state, implementation of G.O.Ms No.3 by school education department, proposal of land purchase scheme and enhancement of % of reservation for STs as per the latest census.

The State level workshop on implementation of Forest Rights Act (FRA) was organized on 05-08-2015 at S.R.Sankaran Conference Hall, D.S.S. Bhavan, Masab Tank, Hyderabad. The objective of the “Training Programme” is to orient the field level functionaries and State Level Officials .The representatives of the District Collectors, Project Officers, Integrated Tribal Development Agencies, District Tribal Welfare Officers, and Officers from Revenue, Forest Departments and NGOs have attended the training programme.

The Ministry of Tribal Affairs (MoTA) In coordination with the Tribal Cultural Research and Training Institute (TCR&TI) has conducted a one day training programme on sickle cell anaemia and water bodies on 11.7.2015 at S.R.Sankaran Conference Hall, D.S.S. Bhavan, Masab Tank, Hyderabad. The resource persons from Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) have given hands on training to the medical officers working in the agency areas and ST concentrated areas of the state on screening of the sickle cell anemia among the ST Population. The resource persons from National remote sensing agency (NRSA) have provided the information on identification of water bodies in scheduled areas and their potential of fishing.
